Personal Trainer: Walking

Looking for a fun and helpful way to exercise? Personal Trainer Walking tracks users' progress and makes going for a walk a little more fun. It comes with two Activity Meters! Simply place the Activity Meter in your pocket or bag (or attach it to your belt with the included Activity Meter Clip Connector) and carry it around with you as you go about your daily routine. If the number of steps you've recorded in one day exceeds your daily step target, the light on the Activity Meter will change from red to green. You then transfer the data recorded by the Activity Meter to the Infrared Game Card. Once the data has been transferred, you can see the results on your Nintendo DS system and check your life rhythm! The Activity Meter will track your daily step count minute by minute, so you can take a look at any day and check your activity with a number of graphs. Up to five years of records can be saved on the calendar, giving you a clear portrait of your life rhythm over time—you can even write and save notes.

User Reviews about Personal Trainer: Walking

I've used this game since February, bought this second one for my sister and her boyfriend. It's jumpstarted my walking program and I've enjoyed using the monitor to log my daily progress. It's very easy to use, walking around the world has been fun and the illuminate music is great! Would love to see "the next level" or an additional Personal Trainer follow up program to the original. -- Great way to start!!
It's a great motivator to keep stepping. There's days I start to slack off and skip my walk outside but then I look at that red light on the pedometer and out the door I go. The best part about the pedometer is how small it is. I've thought I'd like to have one with a step readout but not at the expense of size. I did get a clip on lanyard for the times I don't have a pocket - I'd hate to lose this little puppy! You do need a Nintendo DS of some sort (lite, orig. XL, i)for this, and not a Wii. The 'game' on the DS has lots of interesting data and statistics about your walking. For example, I've taken over 2,300,000 steps in the past 10 months! -- Still using it daily almost a year later.
I was looking for something to motivate me to walk and track my progress. When I found this game I got very excited because it included a second pedometer for my husky puppy. So far it has been a great motivational tool and a lot of fun making my walking seem like a game rather than a chore. Of course my puppy consistently beats me as the top walker but its no wonder with all the time he chases the cats around the house. I enjoy seeing activity times as well so I can track when I am active during the day and monitor my puppy's activity to see if he s up late at night (helps me spot times when he needs to go outside and prevent accidents when he is consistently up at the same time early in the am according to the monitor). This has been a great deal of fun and I enjoy sharing our daily walking totals with my husband who is in Iraq makes him feel closer. Great all around game for any age or species lol I will have to put one on the cat to see who is truly number one in the house! -- Great fun for me and the dog lol
I picked this up when I started a new walking program and just for fun attached the second pedometer to my dog's collar (it does have a setting for dogs). I didn't realize it had additional features (educational bits about different things from around the world that activate with different amounts of steps and other items as well), but those were a fun surprise once I started using it. For me, it is motivating to try and hit my green light every day--and has been helpful in seeing how much (or little) activity my dog gets as well. Now if she hasn't hit her step target by the end of the day, she gets an extra walk. It was good (but also sad) to discover that when we leave the house, the dog does NOTHING at all, so we can make adjustments to make sure she is getting better exercise as well.

I already loved this as a fun tool in making a healthy lifestyle change (for me and the dog), but was especially thrilled when I accidentally left it clipped to my shorts, which I threw in the laundry and then the dryer without realizing I'd left it attached--and it still worked when it came through that abuse (and apparently a trip through "express wash" and 60 minutes in the dryer is equivalent to about 9,000 steps--so a bit off on my step count and a new record, but otherwise fine). -- Great idea and durable, too!
This is very apparently not a game, but I do not regret buying it at the least. It certainly does what it aims to do; it makes you change your walking habits by adding that additional twenty minutes of walking to your daily routine. You would honestly benefit (obviously to your health) from buying it sooner at a higher price than waiting for it to get cheaper, later. It comes with two pedometers, so do yourself and a family member a favor. Pick up a copy and get outside! -- Invigorating
